Silver Swan presents Legacy Resounding, a concert in the Museum of Russian Art (TMORA), on March 15 at 7:00 p.m. This concert features unaccompanied choral music from the libraries of the Romanov family’s palaces in and around St. Petersburg, Russia. We will also perform music by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Grechaninoff, as well as lesser known St. Petersburg composers.
TMORA currently has a beautiful exhibit of jewelry, clothing, books and other treasures from the Romanov family in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the crowning of the first Romanov tsar, Feodor I, in 1613. The exhibit is accompanied by excellent explanatory notes by curator Dr. Maria Zavialova, and is a must-see for anyone interested in Russia, the tsars, or magnificent beauty and history.
Silver Swan’s concert is a complement to the exhibit. Ensemble members Angela Grundstad, Clara Osowski, Roy Heilman and Artistic Director John Bitterman are joined by guest artists Mari Scott (soprano), Anna Meek (mezzo), Andrew Kane (tenor) and Mark Dietrich (bass). Join us in the Museum for Russian choral music of 8-voiced splendor!
Tickets for this concert my be obtained only through TMORA (tmora.org). We hope to see you there!
